About Me
Hola!
I’m Patricia, a bilingual instructional designer.
I believe learning is a life-long process and that the creation of targeted, individualized, and interactive learning experiences can provide opportunities for deep reflection and growth.
My Path to Instructional Design
My passion for learning started early. As a child, I spent a lot of time outdoors and in the kitchen. I loved exploring the natural beauty of the local regional parks and experimenting with cooking and baking for friends and family. This same creative passion and energy led me to travel the world, study Spanish, and later start a career in bilingual education. I have always enjoyed striking a balance between the technological world and the natural world in order to inspire creativity in all that I create.
Just over 12 years ago, I started working in the classroom and quickly found a new passion for creating and developing curriculum, leading me to pursue a Masters in Education and Curriculum Development. I have designed and developed curriculum and facilitated instruction for K-12 students and adult learners, leading professional development trainings and postgraduate courses, in addition to coaching colleagues and pre-service teachers.
These experiences led me to realize how much I love working with and creating content for adult learners. I weave personal interaction, reflection, and self-paced learning into my design and development process in order to create dynamic, rich learning experiences that meet the needs of every learner and organization. You can find me regularly nerding out on new software tools and ways to use them to make my designs more engaging and meaningful. I look forward to working with you to create learning solutions that meet the needs of your organization.
